Amical
Privacy-first AI that captures your thoughts at the speed of speech
Transform speech into polished text instantly—with local processing, multi-language support, and zero privacy compromises.

Open-source release achieved viral adoption with 4,200+ downloads in the first month. Users reported 3× faster content creation, with 95%+ transcription accuracy out of the box and an active GitHub community contributing weekly.
The Project
Amical delivers lightning-fast, privacy-first dictation and meeting transcription with truly local AI processing. Our production-ready MVP included native desktop applications, intelligent transcription pipelines, smart formatting, and seamless integrations for exporting to email and collaboration platforms.
The Challenge
Professionals needed fast, accurate dictation but existing solutions forced everything through the cloud, raising privacy concerns and requiring constant internet connectivity. Heavy applications drained battery life, while limited customization meant poor accuracy for domain-specific terminology.
The Solution
We built a sophisticated local-first architecture with optional cloud processing for teams that prefer it. The system features advanced multi-language AI models, custom vocabulary training, intelligent meeting transcription with speaker identification, and one-click export templates for Slack, Gmail, and Discord.

The Stack
Amical completely changed how I work. I can dictate emails, notes, and even code comments faster than I can type them—and because everything runs locally, I never worry about sensitive client information being sent to the cloud.
